It was easier said than done
It was almost over before it had begun
So hard to imagine, such a struggle to perceive
But these were things they could not conceive
When Jesus said that He would die
And then would rise again
They hoped somehow it would be true
But lived in fear that death instead would be their final friend
He came back; it wasn't the end of the story
He came back; there is no end to His glory
He meant each and every word He'd said
He came back; then all of our sins were forgiven
He came back; the greatest gift we've been given
All we've got to do is to love Him all our days
We lift our voices in praise, He came back!
First it was Mary, then the women from the tomb
Then the men in Emmaus saw Him in their very room
He wore the cloak of fate as His one disguise
And still they could not tear truth from lies
Then Jesus showed them He had died
And they were not bereaved
For when there was no doubt, He said
Blessed are the ones who have not seen but still believe
Jesus told them to evangelize
Help others know what alone they could not realize
